The current fashion trend in the area of the suit is indeed a lopsided phenomenon in various sectors of the African nations. This is mainly because of the various elaborate and different cultures that also thrive in most countries of Africa.


In most African churches the story is the same. Most African people still go to their various churches on their traditional attires. This is mainly the case with most of the mainline Christian and Orthodox churches. The leaders here even encourage people to appear in their various local attires more often.

However, the suit trend is mainly noticed today in most of the Pentecostal churches that are sprouting up like wild plants in various countries of the African continent. In most of these Pentecostal churches, the code of dressing for the church leaders and their subjects is only the fashion suits. This applies only to the pastors, evangelist, preachers who have a lot to do with the audience. There is no imposition on the congregation as they are allowed to come to church services with any kind of attire.  The main reason for the reigning of the suit style among the Pentecostal pastors is because of the root of the Pentecostal churches. Every single Pentecostal church in Africa has its root from the western world of Europe where the Pentecostal revolution kicked off. Most of the European pastors have the suits as their normal cultural attire.  Most African pastors therefore mimic them.

In all one can say, that the trend when it comes to the fashion suit in most African churches is a thing reserved only for the Pentecostal pastors who act and preach just in the exact way their western counterpart behave. There are no special impositions placed on their followers.
